BHMS: Business and Hotel Management School, Luzern, Switzerland - Top Accredited MBA in Switzerland - Leading Swiss Hospitality Institute
Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) Since 1893 | First in the World
There is only one Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne... In partnership with the Swiss and international hospitality industry, the world’s first hotel school prepares the leaders of tomorrow. Our philosophy of learning, combining experience and discovery, leads to the mastery of the arts and sciences of hospitality management. In Switzerland, it is the only institute of hospitality management of HES ("Haute Ecole Spécialisée", or University of Applied Sciences) level offering advanced programmes which are recognized by the Swiss government. It is also accredited as an Institution of Higher Education by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in the USA and the Bologna process in Europe. Generally, EHL is accepted industry-wide as the best hotel school in the world, as the Cornell School of Hotel Administration is in the United States of America.
EHL was the first hospitality school in Switzerland to be part of the the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, with government recognition at university level. While EHL plays an active part in the university, often referred to by its French initials HES-SO, it retains its independence and distinctive character, building on its own tradition of excellence which has made it a reference in hospitality education for more than 115 years.
Degrees
The school currently offers different types of degrees. The primary programme, where students are educated in international hospitality management, leads to a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree and is open to secondary school diploma holders who have access to a university in their country of origin. A Diploma programme is also offered to vocational background candidates as well as a Masters programme.
EHL today
EHL is prospering. Student numbers are at record levels and, significantly, the ratio of applicants to admitted students is also at an all time high; thus both the quality and the quantity of the student body are stronger than ever. With students from about 90 different nationalities attending programmes in English and in French, with faculty and staff drawn from over 30 countries, the school today is a truly international institution and the educational experience is enriched by this cultural diversity. A new building, nearing completion, will provide added space and facilities to maintain high-quality education. Two new programmes are being launched in response to the evolving demands of the industry. A new business development programme has also been established in order that we may continue to attract exceptional talent and educate the leaders of the future.
EHL Lausanne is the oldest hotel school in the world. Founded in 1893, EHL is a hotel school offering high-level studies to students who are aiming for careers in the hotel industry.
